Blessings in Jesus name
This month was a month of blessings and blessings
and more blessings. We were blessed with a digital camera, then with
some equipment, a quick safari to Ngorogoro and then with a 1998 Toyota
Land Cruiser! Talk about His favor and grace.
We had some difficult times when we arrived in Dar Es Salaam but none
of these things moved us as we experienced His strength and compassion.
We ministered in a church and to the sick in Dar and received wonderful
Swahili tracks telling the story of a Muslim who became born-again.
We left Billeam, our car, at a campsite and went to Zanzibar, which
is 99% Muslim. We took a ferry and after 8 hours reached the port at
Zanzibar. We realized we could not stay long on this island as it is
extremely expensive. We started to share and show the love of Christ
and that JESUS IS THE WAY. We explained that Jesus is mentioned in
there own Koran and mentioned that they have to follow the teachings
of Isah (Jesus). The Holy Spirit has drawn people to us as we shared
about the realness and relationship of Him in our lives. We handed
out tracks and shared the gospel in shops and streets. Sadly some were
very interested until we refused to purchase anything from them.
A dear friend, Andrinette, from Cape Town came
to visit us and brought us some supplies and gifts from brothers
and sisters in South Africa. We received a Kodac
Digital Camera with
grateful hearts from Andre and Deon van der Vyver and Andrinette.
Some of the other equipment was sent by Equip & Empower Ministries.
Andrinette sponsored us to see Kilimanjaro
and the Ngorogoro Crater but unfortunately it was too cloudy to see
mount Kilimanjaro. We stayed in Arusha in a dorm and on returning
the evening from having our favored meal, chips, we found security
guards inside the dorm. They explained that someone broke the window
as well as the frame and asked us to check our belongings (sorry,
the Lord’s belongings). His protection
was proven once again as after checking nothing was stolen. We shared
the gospel with some locals and tourists and then headed for Ngorogoro
Crater.
We spend 1 full day in the beautiful animal
infested crater and then due to the rough roads Billiam’s roof
rack and a side pole came loose and knocked the body and damaged
it. We had to fix it and then carried on.
The Holy Spirit started to prompt us to throw tracks out of the moving
car as soon as we saw Muslims this was awesome as 99% of the time the
tracks landed in front of their feet and then they picked it up to
read it. Strange but true. We then went to Lusotho to the cliff view
mountain. This was a great time of seeking his presence. High, high
in the mountain, above the clouds, we experienced
his presence and love. We shared the gospel with the locals and led some to Christ and
then Andrinette handed out tracks and led a ten year old girl to the
Lord.
As soon as Andrinette left us we felt an unction to become really
busy as we felt terribly guilty of not being as busy as we were previously.
Later, while staying at Dar, without seeking His guidance, I decided
to leave Dar and to go to Tanga were we have met a lovely Missionary
family that is doing almost exactly the same as us. I wanted to work
with them for a while but on the day that we left I continuously felt
that God might not want us to do that trip, but guilt drove me to do
a 500km trip. On the way the Holy Spirit kept on talking to me to such
an extent that I could not bear it anymore and then I stopped every
now and then to pray. We stopped at Sarenga before Tanga I still felt
the unction to pray, so I canceled our meeting with the missionaries.
The next day we went into a farm to pray and there the Lord sent a
sophisticated Muslim on our way and we shared Jesus with him. He was
very open-minded although we sensed that there was some time needed
by the Holy Spirit to minister to this man.
By midday we received a phone call from Gustav Wessels in Lusaka saying
that we must come and fetch his vehicle, because the Lord told him
to do so. THE LORD GAVE US A 1998 LAND CRUISER! Please while reading
this news letter, pray for Gustav, Esme and family because we know
they could not afford to give this car to us. Brother Andrew of God
smuggler once said: YOU CANNOT GIVE GOD SOMETHING
THAT COSTS YOU NOTHING.
(What a sacrifice and what obedience!). We immediately returned to
Dar, where Jono flew to Lusaka to fetch the blessing vehicle and then
drove 2000 km back to Dar, alone. The lesson that we got in this situation
is not to be led by guilt, but by the Holy Spirit.
We desire to fulfill the call of Mark 16:15
to “Go onto the
entire world and preach the Gospel” and we also desire for you
to fulfill that call as well. Your donation will aid us as we preach
the Gospel in remote and unreached areas, impact others who will in
turn impact others who will impact all generations worldwide with the
truth and power of the Gospel. All gifts, great or small, will be appreciated.
