Dear brother and sisters and partners in Christ
This was such a wonderful month with amazing results
for Him! We have had the great privilege to serve our Master in churches,
schools, streets, townships, orphanages and Missions stations, but we
still feel inadequate. We need a greater hunger for the lost, a greater
passion. We need even more boldness and courage. Please pray for us,
for there is great power in prayer. AMEN
In Rundu we visited a mission station and encouraged
the missionary, Stephan Steyn. We also had the marvelous opportunity
to preach to most of the church leaders in Rundu. We then left the comfort
zone of Rundu and its beautiful people and the comfortable Lodge we
stayed at, on our way to Katimo Mulilu.
The long drive was quite interesting, because we
saw many elephant droppings and pushed over trees on the main High way!
We decided to stop half way for the night, so we camped at Muhangu camp
site. That night we slept right next to the river where hippos were
10 – 20 meters from our tent! They made these terrible grunts
right through the night! To be honest, it was scary. The beautiful side
of that night was seeing the stars in its full glory, and remembered
Psalm 8, “…What is man that thou art mindful of him”.
We shared the Gospel to some German tourists & also the owner that
day.
The next day we went to Katimu and had to have a couple
of minor things on our God-given vehicle fixed. Through God’s
favor, we had it done for free.
In Katimo God sent more German tourists on our way,
so we could share Jesus with them. We especially had a burden to share
the Gospel to Elizabeth and Rupert, a German couple. Please pray for
them.
We stayed at a camp site that was very expensive while the toilets are
incomplete, so we decided to move to a much cheaper camp site. After
we set up our tent, we realized that there were no toilets for the campers!
It was depressing to stay in this town due to the disunity, conflict,
loveless ness and religious behavior between the churches and between
the Christians. We later received a good report from that church, though.
Please keep on praying for this town, so the manipulation to be broken.
We then left Namibia. We ministered the Gospel at
the border and to the authorities on our way to Livingstone.
Arriving at Livingstone, we camped at Waterfront camp site. The tourists
were drunk every night, so we decided to preach during the day time.
God kept sending people on our way to minister to. On one occasion Len’s
cell was stolen and the security guards came to require info regarding
the theft. Some tourists at the swimming pool saw this and then questioned
us, thinking we were drug dealers. We then explained to the whole group
that we were missionaries and that our cell got stolen. We preached
to the whole group. A certain atheist lady asked a whole lot of questions,
while the Holy Spirit gave us great answers! The next night a man from
that group came and sat on our table and humorously called us nuts because
of what we are doing, so we laughed and agreed that we are nuts about
Jesus. So God turned a stolen cell phone into a good situation.
An embarrassing situation occurred for Len when he
unknowingly walked into the ladies bathroom and started to get undressed
when a lady walked in. He obviously did not feel led to share the Gospel
at that moment!
Even as we visited Vic falls, which was AWESOME, God
sent more tourists and locals on our way to share the Gospel to. One
day, while walking in town, a local suddenly grabbed Len’s arm
and cried, “Pray for me, I need Jesus in my life!” This
was a shock as we had not yet preached in the streets. We then pulled
him aside and as we started to preach to him, a crowd gathered. Glory
to God, we led them all to Christ!
When we wanted to leave Livingstone, we noticed that
we did not have enough money in our account, so we were forced to stay.
Later that day, we met some people from Ebenezer Orphanage, who told
us about a Signs and Wonders conference and crusade. The orphanage,
where we tried to help, and the conference and crusade was mind boggling.
We saw God’s goodness and greatness. Ebenezer orphanage made us
feel so small, because of their big vision.
We went to the township and visited grannies that were looking after
some orphans. We minister to them and to the people in the streets and
gave out tracts.
We then went to Lusaka to drop some wonderful American
pastors at the airport. Later, while seeking for accommodation, four
people drove beside our car in normal clothes, telling us that he is
a police man and that we must pull over. He lifted up a white piece
of paper, acting like it was a badge. The Holy Spirit immediately prompted
Len to keep driving and to ignore their commands. When we later told
this to the police, they told us that this was a very dangerous situation.
Thank God for His protection.
Don’t let that story give you a wrong impression.
The people in Zambia are the friendliest people we’ve ever met.
They are also very religious. There are churches and schools on just
about every corner in Lusaka.
Please help. We are in desperate need for the
following items:
1) Laptop with DVD & CD writer (For multiple
purposes)
2) A projector and a white screen. (To show the Jesus film and the
Passion of the Christ)
3) A sound system. (For Open-Air meetings)
4) A tri-band cell phone for Jono
5) A Roof Tent
We desire to fulfill the call of Mark 16:15 to "go
into ALL the world and preach the gospel" and we also desire to
see others fulfill that call as well. Your donation will aid us as we
preach the gospel in remote and unreached areas and as we inspire others
who will impact all generations worldwide with the truth and power of
the Gospel. All gifts great or small will be greatly appreciated.
