Hi Everyone….. Please view our monthly photos
on our website.
We are presently in Dar es Salaam !
Praise God, what a challenge!
This month was a month of reuniting
with some of our brothers and sisters from South Africa , but we
also had some terrible times with officials, border posts, bad roads,
car trouble and a broken digital camera. We spent a lot of time on
the road this month.
As we tried to renew our passports for another
month we realized that we were 4 days overdue. We immediately prayed
and asked the Lord to please blind the eyes and give us favor with
the immigration officials. THIS
TRULY HAPPENED! As we arrived at the offices, people guided
us through a crowd who was standing in the queue before us. As we
walked into a certain room, the director came out of his office and
invited us in because he said that it was overcrowded in the room.
He then, without looking at our passports, gave his signature for
approval and gave the command to his officers to stamp our passports. We
serve an AWESOME GOD.
As we were waiting for David, Len's
younger son, to arrive from South Africa , we had to fix Billeam
(our car) again. The car door was rusted and could not close anymore.
The Lord gave us favor at the panel beaters as we shared the Gospel
with the people, and so they repaired it free of charge. We also
tried to get Billeam's power problem sorted out, but they could not
completely repair it due a broken vacuum advanced unit. The car still
really struggles uphill as taxis and trucks constantly overtake us
uphill. Our fuel consumption is 3.36 km/liter.
When
David arrived we spent some time together and also prayed together.
This was a real adjustment and really had to adjust, to say the least. Missions
for Christ (www.missionsforchrist.org.za), Attie Myburg and
his family, Johan Swart from Equip & Empower Ministries (
International Bible College ; www.powerhouse.org.za), Dirk Gous and
Liandi Venter, a student, came to support us on an outreach. On a Sunday
we all ministered in a Baptist Church at Senga Bay . Len gave the main
message for 1 hour, but the whole service lasted 4 hours. That evening
we showed the Passion of the Christ and when we gave the call to salvation, hundreds
of people committed their hearts to the Lord.
We then went
to Cape MaClear . We spent a day in prayer on a mountain and ministered
to the people in the villages on our way and back. We also played the
Passion of the Christ in the village and Attie then led the people
to the Lord. Many people came to Christ that
night. On the day that they left, Missions for Christ blessed
us with their only sound system and DVD player to show the Jesus and
Passion of the Christ films. This was awesome news as we stood in faith
for this equipment for quite a while. THANK YOU JESUS!!!
We
had to leave Malawi on the 15 th and acting on the advice of an immigration
officer at Salima, we went out of Malawi to Mozambique in order to
return the next day, but unfortunately the devil tried to stop us through
these officers who tried to force bribery money out of us. We refused.
We then had to sleep in Mozambique and had to drive over 400km on terrible
dirt roads to another border post. Mozambique was a sad experience
as we could not communicate with anybody. Nobody understood English
and we did not have Portuguese tracts. Through His grace were accepted
at the next border post for another 14 days in Malawi . We then had
to drive another 300km (mostly bad dirt road) to Lilongwe .
At Lilongwe
we had to clean the car outside and especially inside, because we
had 3 days of desert in our car! We had to thoroughly clean every single
item in and on Billeam.
At Lilongwe we visited some Missionaries
and sowed our rooftop tent to them, for we had no space on Billeam
due to the God given sound equipment. We then went to Karonga, 50
km from the Tanzanian border. As we had no more finances in our bank
and therefore could not continue on to Tanzania , we went to minister
in the villages and hand out our last Chichewa tracts. As soon
as the Lord supplied our need again, we went over the border
and worked our way up to Dar es Salaam .
We were really blessed on
the way as most of the other tourists were stopped by officials
an average of 15 times with difficulty, but we were only stopped once,
without any hassles. TALK ABOUT GOD'S
FAVOR!!
DAR ES SALAAM! What a shock! This city full of crime,
aggressive people, bribe-seeking officials, astonishingly terrible
traffic is not at all what we expected it to be! We've been here
for 3 days and we have already had too many bad experiences, DISASTER
STRUCK when our digital camera broke. We can't see what
photo's we take and sometimes it does not take photos at all…..but
thank God, none of these things move us, nor do we count our lives
dear to ourselves.(Acts 20:24)
We have 2 new challenges in
Tanzania . There is
a language barrier. Not many people can speak English, but we are
awaiting tracts from South Africa . Also, there are many Moslems
in this area, but we see this as good news! We will be locating
missionaries and churches in D.E.S. as well as in Zanzibar in the
near future. ( Zanzibar is 99% Moslem! What a good place to harvest!)
Dearly
beloved, we desire to fulfill the call of Mark 16:15 to “Go onto
the entire world and preach the Gospel” and we also desire for you
to fulfill that call as well . Your donation will aid us
as we preach the Gospel in remote and unreached areas, impact others
who will in turn impact others who will impact all generations worldwide
with the truth and power of the Gospel. All gifts, great or small,
will be appreciated.

unto God.)
