Everything could only come from an intelligent and powerful Being. You may find it hard to believe that God could make everything out of nothing but the alternative, that nothing turned itself into everything, takes more faith to believe - Isaac Newton
Dear brothers and sisters
We have truly been blessed during our time in South Africa. One thing we can say is that there is definitely a silent revival in South Africa. Every time that we return we experience a greater hunger for Him. People talk easily about Jesus everywhere and it isn't a "personal matter" as years ago. We have been to nearly 30 countries and there is none like SA spiritually. The only thing that really makes us sad is the selfishness…." I have been saved and just want to know more and just want to be blessed" instead of "I have been saved and I need others to be saved too". We don't blame anybody but we question the leadership. Very few are prepared to preach, teach or train effective evangelism because it isn't a comfortable subject. When we minister in churches, we find a shocking statistic that 1-2 percent of the body of Christ evangelize to unsaved people. When we question why they don't, they normally reply that they don't know how to or that they are afraid. You will be afraid too if you don't know how to!!!! Come on! Let us stop trying to please our congregations and start to do what God expects from us. Let us stop seeking after blessings the whole time and rather be a blessing to the Lord. Just 2 days ago an elderly man asked Jono why we go out to other countries and don't rather work in South Africa. Obviously obedience is the primary reason, but Jono's answer at the time was "There are so many born-again Christians in South Africa already, why do they always want someone else to do their responsibility? It is the body of Christ's task to reach the people around them, not just the missionaries."
The church that does not carry a passion to reach the world isolates people behind walls of cultural irrelevance.
Please have a look at the "Evangelistic Tools" of our website on www.travelmissions.org. You will be equipped and edified!!!!
Well, on a more positive note. We have been greatly blessed to have been part of reaching out to the farmers and farm workers, saved and unsaved. We have been praying for the sick and sharing the truth to the unsaved and stirring up the saved to be a blessing to our Lord and savior by reaching out to those who don't know Him. Many come to the Lord and many who were out of fellowship were restored.
Jono was blessed with new boots by a missionary from Bulgaria (Casper) and we really thank the Lord for His faithfulness and the missionary's obedience. Well, now his feet are nice and warm again and blessed are the feet of those who bring good news.
We are preparing for our next phases, Thailand and then Greece. We have been invited by Strategic Ministries to go back to Chiang Mai for an outreach with a group of 20 people. We will be working with Lighthouse Ministries in the red district and train pastors on evangelism. We still need 8 people to join the team. Please contact Joshua at 0822278730 or e-mail:

February Newsletter 2009
Men occasionally stumble over the truth but most of them pick themselves up and harry of as if nothing ever happened - Winston Churchill
Dear brothers and sisters
Here is just a little bit of debriefing of our whereabouts.
We are still in South Africa and are in the process of preaching, edifying and teaching.
We really had a great time in Cape Town, Bredarsdorp, Bonnivale, Piketberg, Arora and surroundings and it has been great to have been invited back to some of these areas. We could share the Gospel with the lost. The sadness of most lost people in SA is that they have heard the Gospel so many times that they know the answers but do not live it or do not want a relationship with Jesus. They sometimes want their lives changed but are not prepared to change their lifestyle.
We can truly say that we have experience an awesome spiritual awakening in South Africa like in many places around the globe. There is definitely a hunger to know Him.
We were witnessing to a 70 year old German in Hardekraaltjie, caravan park in Cape Town a few days ago and it was so sad that when he heard the truth that he said he "refuses to believe it". As we wanted to prove to him with scientific, Prophetic, archaeological and historical evidence and that the Bible is the most preserved and authentic Book and that its contents is based on indisputable facts and infallible proofs and that this would prove not only that God exists but who He is, he just said "I don't want to know." We did say to him that living in denial by saying "Don't confuse me with the facts, I have made my mind up" is not going to change the truth of the outcome of his eternal destiny. We will keep on praying that his pride and blindness will be taken away to come to the knowledge of Christ.
Woody Allen - "I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens".
We had a Devine appointment when we were standing in a shopping center a couple of days ago, when a dear friend of us, Joshua Baker, mailed me this story and photo of Fatima, who was martyred. While reading this on my cell I felt sad but the Lord made me aware of a lady covered in the traditional Muslim clothing and head-cover, standing next to me. I immediately asked her if she would do me a favor by reading this mail. She did and very sincerely responded that not all Muslims are like this. We had the wonderful opportunity to share about the Deity of Isa (Jesus) in their Koran, what He did for her and that no man or women will be exempt on Judgment day by following a crowd and not finding the truth out for themselves and that He will make Himself real to her if she cries out in sincerity. We had mixed feelings when she left and my eyes met hers to see the shame and uncertainty of her eternal destiny in her eyes. Let us pray that that e-mail, 'Crown of Life', will not only touch her but other Muslims as well and come to know His realness, love and truth, that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through Him - John 14:6. (Joshua Baker is also a fulltime missionary now, living in JHB and really needs your prayers)
The ultimate failures for humans are hell!
We also had a wonderful time with 2 missionaries, Stephan and Corne Walters, who are on their way to Peru in South America. They have also sold and gave everything away to fulfill the calling of the Lord on their lives. We have spent time together to share with them our experiences and about the realness of the Lord over the last 5 years, edifying and training them. It was such an awesome blessing to have seen the faith, joy and courage that these 2 had to let go and let God.....Please pray for them for they need prayer as their finances are not nearly sufficient and SIM can't send them unless their finances are in place.

The greatest tragedy in life is not death but a purposeless life... knowing that someone will be dying and going to hell for eternity and not caring enough to do anything about it
We were in Saldana on our way to Piketberg, a couple of weeks ago and then something unforeseen happened. A thief sneaked into our tent during the night and was reaching out to grab our laptop when the Lord awakened me and could disturb him. He did manage to steal Jono's Crispy boots that the Lord gave him before we left 5 years ago though. These boots was Jono's only shoes as he was wearing them in the snow as well as in the desert every single day of the last 5 years. (Blessed are the feet of those who preach the Good News). We know that the Lord will bless him with a new pair but at this stage it is quiet comical to see him walking with flip-flops everywhere even with long pants to church. We do however pray that the person who is wearing it will be touched with the power of the Holy Spirit and will come to know Jesus in a very special way.
The western church are dead not because of wrong believes but because of wrong practice and wrong values. The church has retreated from the world it was called to reach. We protest not against dead liberalism but dead evangelicalism. - Unknown
